Two days after a railway engineer went missing from a bridge construction site in Jharkhand's Latehar district, the police on Thursday said they are still clueless about him.
Madhu Samjhdaar, who went to inspect a railway bridge built by a private company in Bukru village, disappeared from the Maoist-dominated area on Tuesday evening. His family has not got any ransom call yet, the police said.
According to sources in the railways, Samjhdaar went missing after leaving the construction site office to receive a phone call.
"We are working on two angles. First, criminals could have abducted him. Second, the role of Maoists," a police official told IANS.
The Tori-Shivapuri rail line work is going on since 2002. The 42-km long line, monitored by the central government, has been expedited this year. It is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2017.
