A North Korean court Sunday sentenced a tourist from the US to six years of hard labour after finding him guilty of "hostile acts".
Matthew Miller, 24, was arrested in April for staging an incident while going through the immigration process, North Korean news agency KCNA reported.
The authorities have not specified the exact charges, but said he tore up his visa and demanded political asylum.
Another US tourist, Jeffrey Fowle, 56, was accused of leaving a Bible in his hotel room and was detained in May.
