To promote literacy and create awareness on inclusive education, an NGO will organise a 'back-a-thon' in the Kerala capital on Sunday (September 13) in which more than 1,500 people will be walking backwards.
The event will be organised by NGO Make a Difference (MAD).
"We are attempting to create a world record for maximum number of people in a backward walk. The current record stands at 1,107 participants for a walk organised in Indore," said Anurag Pramod, MAD Trivandrum head, on Friday.
MAD hopes to signify the intent to come together in solidarity with underprivileged children who have been relegated to a backward position in society.
The official tagline of the event is 'Care More'.
MAD has presence in 23 cities, seeking to mobilise young leaders to ensure equitable outcomes for children at risk living in shelters.
