Ram Naresh, one of the most critical victims of the NTPC boiler blast in Uttar Pradesh's Rae Bareli last month, will be discharged from AIIMS on Saturday, said hospital sources.

Naresh, with 60 per cent burns on body and face, was the most critical among the patients air-lifted to Delhi after undergoing brief treatment at Lucknow's King George's Medical University.

"He will be discharged tomorrow (Saturday) as he has recovered. His condition was extremely critical and had underwent comprehensive treatment during. AIIMS is doing the required formalities," the source told IANS.

The other five patients, with burns on face and the upper part of the body, will continue to undergo treatment.

The massive explosion took place on November 1 in a 500 MW unit in Unchahar town on the Lucknow-Allahabad Highway. Many were trapped when the boiler burst and a huge ball of dust rose, making the rescue operations difficult. Over 40 persons died in the blast and over 100 were injured.
