Newly-promoted Nuremberg have sealed the transfer of Christian Mathenia from relegated Hamburg, the Bundesliga football club announced on Saturday.
The 26-year-old custodian will reinforce Nuremberg for the upcoming season after putting pen to paper on an undisclosed contract, as both sides agreed to keep silence over further transfer details, reports Xinhua news agency.
"We are happy about the transfer. His career and age fits perfectly into our requirement profile. He has room for development but he already gained a lot of experience," Nuremberg's sporting director Andreas Bornemann said.
Mathenia played for Darmstadt (2014-2016) and Hamburg (2016-2018) and made overall 71 appearances in Germany's top flight.
"I am looking forward to this exciting task. I will give everything and help the club to achieve the sporting goals. I am looking forward to getting to know my new colleagues as well," Mathenia said.
