US President Barack Obama will attend a memorial service of anti-apartheid icon and South Africa's first black president Nelson Mandela Tuesday.
First lady Michelle Obama will accompany the president on his trip, Xinhua quoted a White House official as saying Saturday.
The official, however, did not disclose more details about the president's schedule.
The memorial service Tuesday will be held at a soccer stadium in Johannesburg, where Mandela died Dec 5 at the age of 95.
Former US presidents Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush will also travel to South Africa for the memorial service.
South African President Jacob Zuma announced Friday that the country will have a state funeral and burial for Mandela Dec 15.
