The Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) Saturday decided to finance the construction of toilets for girls in 59 schools across the country as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities.
In a statement issued here, the Chennai-based bank said it decided to finance the construction in response to the call given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his Independence Day address.
"The decision for this CSR initiative to construct toilets in one school in each of the 59 regions of the bank was taken in the bank's board meeting held on Aug 16," the statement said.
