On World Food Day Thursday, India's online food ordering platform laid stress on feeding the needy via a campaign, 'You Say, Panda Donates' in association with Sakshi NGO.
It is aimed at getting food donations for the needy.
The Facebook-driven campaign enables the online platform's users to post the name of one commodity on Foodpanda's fan page from a list including rice, flour, potato and pulses, and share it on their timeline. For every share, one kg of the commodity chosen by the user, will get donated to Sakshi NGO.
The idea is to encourage people to be part of the mission to eradicate the problem of hunger by contributing their bit on World Food Day.
Also, Foodpanda is presenting coupon code 'WFD' on its website. If you order food using the code, the money collected will be used to donate food to Sakshi NGO.
"This campaign is launched to imbibe in people the feeling of empathy and extend a helping hand towards the poverty-stricken in our country who can't afford even a one-time meal," Rohit Chadda, managing director and co-founder, Foodpanda.in, said in a statement.
