A 23-year-old woman died and five of her friends, including three women, were left injured when their speeding car overturned and crashed against a truck, police said on Sunday.
The incident took place around 9.30 p.m. on Saturday near Akshardham temple in east Delhi's Pandav Nagar area.
Shalini Rana, a resident of Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh, died on the spot while her friends Pooja Tomar, 23, Priya, 23, Pooja Pathak, 22, Ajay Kumar, 25, and Bhola Prashad, 24, suffered injuries.
"All the victims were rushed to a nearby hospital where Rana was declared dead. Pathak's condition is very critical while remaining four victims are stated to be out of danger and are being treated," said a police official.
According to the official, all the victims were friends and they were returning from a shopping mall in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad when the incident occurred.
The official said that all the women victims live in a paying guest in Laxmi Nagar area of east Delhi and were preparing for Banking examinations.

"The male friends of the women victims live in Noida. They work in a private company and were also preparing for competitive examinations," the official said.
Police said Vinod and Bhola were going to drop their women friends to Laxmi Nagar in a Honda City car.
"Vinod was in the driving seat. He lost control over the vehicle near Akshardham flyover and the car overturned before ramming into a truck," said the official, adding that all the victims were drunk at the time of the incident.
