ONGC lift snooker title

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), led by national champion Pankaj Advani, defeated Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) 4-2 in team snooker final of the Petroleum Sports Promotion Board's 11th Inter-Unit Championship here Wednesday.

The two finalists are scheduled to meet again in the billiards team event final as ONGC overcame Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL) 400-130 and BPCL overcame Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) 500-401 in the semi-finals Wednesday.

The results:

Snooker - Final: ONGC beat BPCL 4-2 (Laxman RawatA bt Devendra Joshi 2-0; Varun Madan lost to Shahbaaz Khan 0-2; Pankaj Advani bt Manan Chandra 2-0).

For 3-4 placing: IOCL beat GAIL 4-1 (Ispreet Chadda bt Himanshu Jain 2-0; Brijesh Damani tied with Ketan Chawla 1-1; Dhvaj Haria bt Ashok Yadav 1-0.

Billiards (Round 1): GAIL beat OIL 400 to 164 (Ketan Chawla bt A Kamla Puri 200-44; Praveer Kumar bt S Hazari 200-120).

Semi-finals: BPCL beat IOCL 501 to 446 (Shabaz Khan lost to Brijesh Damani 101-200; Manan Chandra bt Ishpreet Chada 200-157; Devendra Joshi bt Dhvaj Haria 200-89).

ONGC beat GAIL 400 to 130 (Rupesh Shah bt Ketan Chawla 200-45; Alok Kumar bt Himanshu Jain 200-85).
