Over 10.56 lakh households have been covered under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) in Punjab till date from the launch of the scheme on Aug 28, senior officials said here Monday.
Reviewing the progress of the scheme here, Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal told officers to ensure that every household in the state was covered under the scheme by December 15.
"Bankers should complete the task of opening accounts under this financial inclusion scheme positively by December 15. Punjab would be No.1 state in the country to meet the deadline," Badal said.
