Over 160 Indian fishermen who were released from Pakistani prisons last week have arrived back in India through the Attari-Wagah joint check post, Border Security Force (BSF) officials said here on Tuesday.
The released fishermen include three minors, including an 11-year-old boy.
These fishermen had been arrested by Pakistani Coast Guard on charges of fishing in Pakistan's territorial waters off the coast of Gujarat and taken them to Karachi where they were lodged in various prisons.
Pakistani authorities had ordered the release of these fishermen as a goodwill gesture.
Most fishermen said that they were happy to be back to India.
Authorities at Attari provided transit documents to the fishermen who returned from Pakistan. The fishermen were provided transport to take them back to their homes in Gujarat.
