Over 2,400 people were killed and more than 2,200 injured in June in Iraq, UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric said here Tuesday.
As the UN Assistance Mission in Iraq (UNAMI) has released new casualty figures for June, Dujarric said in a daily news briefing here that at least 2,417 Iraqis have been killed and another 2, 287 have been injured in acts of terrorism and violence during the month, Xinhua reported.
The figure includes more than 1,500 civilian deaths -- the highest toll in a month since 2007, the spokesperson said.
