The central government Tuesday sanctioned a total of 851 buses for Assam and Chhattisgarh under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission.
Of the 851 buses, 400 have been sanctioned for Assam's capital city Guwahati at an estimated cost of Rs.191 crore, said an official statement from the urban development ministry.
In Chhattisgarh, the buses have been sanctioned for 21 clusters.
The statement also said the government will sanction 10,000 buses to states in the current financial year.
