MIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Tuesday urged the Centre to call an all-party meeting on the violence in the Kashmir Valley.

The Hyderabad MP said the meeting should be called to discuss how to end the cycle of violence and to show empathy following street protests that have claimed 32 lives.

The valley has been in the grip of violence since security forces shot dead a top militant, Burhan Wani, on Friday.

In a series of tweets, the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen president asked why the Modi government abandoned the peace process.

"Why has the Modi government abandoned process which was started by Vajpayee government on Kashmir i.e. development to isolate separatists," he asked.

He said Pakistan had no right to interfere in the internal affairs of India. "Better they do their own introspection," he added.

The MIM leader also found fault with National Conference leader and former chief minister Omar Abdullah, who has criticized the handling of the situation by the present government.

Owaisi said Omar Abdullah was clueless and inactive in 2010 when 110 people were killed.
