Pakistan and Afghanistan have agreed to end a blame game over a spate of attacks and work to restore trust between the two neighbours, media reported on Sunday.

"We have agreed to end the blame game against each other and create a positive atmosphere," Dawn online reported foreign ministry advisor Sartaj Aziz as saying.

Aziz visited Afghanistan capital Kabul on Friday for a two-day regional economic conference.

"We will work on establishing trust between the two countries to avoid such a situation in the future," Aziz said on Saturday.

Afghanistan and Pakistan accuse each other of doing too little to prevent Taliban fighters and other Islamist militants from operating from their respective territory.

Afghanistan said a Pakistani intelligence officer helped the Taliban carry out an attack on the Afghan parliament in June.

Afghan officials have also accused Pakistan of supporting the Afghan Taliban.
