The government on Wednesday said that it was not informed about the itinerary of the travel of various Pakistani High Commission officials to attend Pakistan's matches in the ongoing World Twnty20 in India.
Responding to a query following reports that five Pakistani diplomats were barred from visiting Kolkata for the March 19 India-Pakistan match, external affairs ministry spokesman Vikas Swarup said that "Pakistan has not informed the government of the itinerary for the proposed travels, as required by bilateral practice".
"This was despite repeated reminders over the past few days," he said.
Swarup, however, said that considering the occasion, 19 approvals were issued as a gesture.
"This has been conveyed to Pakistan ministry of foreign affairs at senior levels," Swarup said.
"We have urged that agreed requirements are met so that the rest of the requests can be processed," he added.
