Pakistan Saturday said it has conveyed to India its "deep concerns" over the stopping of the Delhi-Lahore bus in Amritsar a day ago.
"We have conveyed our deep concern through diplomatic channels over the stopping of the Pakistan-bound bus by agitators," said a Pakistan High Commission official.
The Pakistan High Commission has also conveyed its concern over the violence in Kishtwar in Jammu and the "incarceration of Hurriyat leaders", the official added.
An Indian external affairs ministry official confirmed they had received a faxed note verbale - protest note - on stopping of the bus. The note did not have any mention of the Kishtwar violence, he added.
Punjab Youth Congress protestors stopped the Delhi-Lahore bus briefly near Amritsar Friday to protest the killing of five Indian soldiers by the Pakistan Army in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch earlier this week.
The Sada-e-Sarhad friendship bus was stopped briefly on the Amritsar-Attari road before police reinforcements rushed to the spot and dispersed the protestors. The bus resumed its journey after the brief hold-up.
Kishtwar town of Jammu and Kashmir witnessed communal violence Friday in which two people were killed. Curfew is continuing in the town Saturday.
