Days after India joined the Missile Technology Control Regime, Pakistan authorities on Thursday said that Islamabad would choose to become a part of the regime at an "appropriate" time.
Pakistan, despite harbouring a keen interest in regimes that control exports, did never express a wish to join the MTCR, which is dominated by the West and controls exports in missile and UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) technology.
Pakistan has "fairly" succeeded in developing a missile programme and various short- and medium-range missiles.
India became the 35th member of the MTCR this week after a consensus emerged in the grouping on admitting it into its fold.
As an MTCR member, India will now have access to crucial missile technologies from across the world.
