Palate Fest spreads euphoria among capital's foodies

With as many as 100 food stalls, live music, live cooking demonstrations and a tempting market square -- the 'New Delhi Palate Fest 2015' is leaving the capital's foodies euphoric, especially with the nip in the air making it an ideal time for such an open air festival.

Being held at the Nehru Park from Friday to Sunday, the fest, in its second edition, is presented by Lloyd and supported by NDMC and Incredible India.

"There are a lot of surprises this time... The music is one notch up as it is with Euphoria closing the fest. There is a lot of buzz and excitement," Aditi Kapoor, co-founder and director, Palate Fest Pvt Ltd, told IANS here.

The gala, inaugurated by Minister of State of Culture and Tourism Mahesh Sharma, has cuisines from city restaurants and cafes like Baking Bad, Wendy's, Bombay Bakery (Rustoms), Big Fat Sandwhich, ITC and The Great Kebab Factory among others.

Be it the favourites from the Coastal South or the rich dishes of the North West frontier or the flavourful Eastern Specialties, the fest caters to food lovers with a mix of everything.

Besides food stalls, the venue has live cooking demonstrations from celebrated chefs like Kunal Kapur, Vicky Ratnani and Ranveer Brar to name a few, while the celebrations will be pepped up with bands like Euphoria, Menwhopause, Ved - the Band adding a musical touch.

"The festival makes a great day out with food markets, cookery workshop, live music, tasting and dinners. There are tons of culinary experiences to explore with live performances, events, promotions and celebrations making it a perfect day out," Ruchi Sibal, co-founder and director, Palate Fest Pvt Ltd, said.

The market square will showcase products from Koyla Kebab, Barista, Golden Dragon, Brown Box, Turkman Gate, House of Chocolate, Keventers, Sugar Cube, Juice Up, Chaayos among others.
