Enraged parents of students of Delhi Public School (DPS) Ghaziabad Tuesday staged a protest against the hike in tuition fee.
Around 100 parents gathered outside the Indirapuram branch of DPS Ghaziabad and shouted slogans against the school management.
They said the fee was hiked by over 40 percent from last year and comes to about Rs.1 lakh annually for junior students, which middle-class people cannot afford.
Additional District Magistrate (City) Rachh Pal Singh told IANS that the district administration had temporarily stayed the implementation of the fee hike.
A committee comprising representatives of parents, the school and government officials would decide the fee structure according to the Supreme Court guidelines, state government orders and market forces and submit its report within 10 days, the official added.
