Pawan Kalyan's party promises pension to farmers

Popular actor Pawan Kalyan's Jana Sena on Thursday launched his party's campaign for next month's elections to Andhra Pradesh Assembly and Lok Sabha, promising Rs 5,000 pension to farmers, KG to PG free education and 10 lakh jobs in five years.

Addressing a massive public meeting to mark Jana Sena's 5th formation day, he promised several welfare measures for various sections of the society.

Showering sops on farmers, Pawan said if voted to power, the Jana Sena would provide Rs 8,000 investment support to every farmer annually and would also pay Rs 5,000 monthly pension each to small and marginal farmers aged above 60 years. He also promised free solar motors to farmers.

Jana Sena, which will be making its electoral debut in April 11 elections, promised free education from kindergarten to post graduation. "If voted to power we will provide one lakh jobs in first six months and 10 lakh jobs in five years," said the actor, who earlier released the first list of candidates for 4 Lok Sabha and 32 Assembly constituencies.

Pawan, younger brother of superstar and former Union Minister Chiranjeevi, also promised Rs 10 lakh health insurance for every family. He vowed to provide corruption-free governance.

Safe drinking water for all, 5 percent political reservation for backward classes, construction of new reservoirs by interlinking rivers, special bank to provide loans to fishermen, implementation of Sachar Committee recommendations for development of Muslims and 33 percent reservation for women in legislature were some of the other promises.
