The outcome of the elections on Tuesday prove that the people have endorsed Congress President Rahul Gandhi's leadership, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) President said on Tuesday.
"Since the past five years, he has been waging a lone battle against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Even in these (five states), he was the only person fighting for the Congress. The people have supported his leadership," Raj Thackeray said.
He pointed out that first the people of Gujarat taught a lesson to the BJP, then Karnataka happened and now these three states.
In all these elections, Rahul Gandhi single-handedly led the charge against the ruling BJP, "and the masses have shown the tyrannical BJP its place".
"The BJP has nothing to show for the past (nearly) five years in power. So they rake up emotional issues like Ram temple. The voters have given the verdict that 'Ram Rajya' is more important than 'Ram Mandir," Raj Thackeray declared.
Referring to the criticism of India's first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Raj Thackeray said it was Mahatma Gandhi who made Nehru the PM.
