Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday launched a scathing attack on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and her nephew cum Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek, accusing them of running the "bua-bhatija model of governance" and turning "Ganatantra" (democracy) into "Gundatantra" (hooliganism).

Addressing a public rally in Diamond Harbour, where Abhishek Banerjee is contesting as a Trinamool Congress candidate, he said that the 'Bhatija's' has no chance of winning as people here are looking for a change.

"In West Bengal, your vote will decide if the decades-old politics of bloodshed in the state will stop or not. You will have to decide if you want to save democracy. In the 'Bua-Bhatija model of governance', people of Bengal are living in utter fear except the infiltrators, cow smugglers, women traffickers, syndicates, extortionists, chit fund leaders, coal and sand mafias. These people are immune to the fear.

"The way the aunt and nephew gang has demeaned Bengal, there is rebellion against it. Due to frustration, Didi is openly talking about taking revenge inch by inch. This is not the time to seek revenge, it is time for a change in Bengal. All your desires will stay unfulfilled and the change will come. Trust me this time, Didi's nephew chances are zero," he said.

Modi also accused Banerjee, the sitting MP from Diamond Harbour of constructing his office by illegally occupying the road.

"I have also been told that as per Trinamool's traditions, nephew's office is also constructed by illegally occupying the road. Didi, you have earned so much, the party has accumulated money through extortion, then why did your nephew illegally take the land kept for the road," he asked.

Answering his own question, he said: "One cannot do away with the habit of looting."

Attacking the Chief Minister Banerjee, Modi said she has doubled the negativity in her by taking the bad points of the erstwhile Left government.

Referring to the incident of violence and vandalism during BJP President Amit Shah's rally in Kolkata on Tuesday, he said "the daughters and youth of Bengal" resisted the "balls of fire" hurled at Shah and fellow BJP activists by the Trinamool Congress.
