Czech-Slovenian pair of Kveta Peschke and Katarina Srebotnik became the sixth doubles team Friday to qualify for the season-ending Women's Tennis Association (WTA) Finals to be held here Oct 17-26.
Peschke, currently ranked 10th, and ninth-ranked Srebotnik have won 10 titles - including the 2011 Wimbledon - from 71 tournaments they played as a team since first pairing up in 2006.
Peschke will be making her fifth appearance while Srebotnik will be making her eighth in the WTA Finals. They have twice, as partners, advanced to the final in 2010 and 2011.
In 2014, they won in Rome in May and reached the finals of the Qatar Open in Doha. They also qualified for the semi-finals of the Australian Open and Aegon International in Eastbourne.
The other pairs who have already qualified include Sania Mirza-Cara Black, Sara Errani-Roberta Vinci, Peng Shuai-Hsieh Su-Wei, Ekaterina Makarova-Elena Vesnina and Raquel Kops-Jones-Abigail Spears.
The top-8 doubles teams will qualify for the season ender to compete in a single-elimination draw. Two more teams are yet to be finalised.
