A manager of a petrol pump in Meghalaya's East Khasi Hills district was injured Tuesday when armed masked men attacked the pump and looted Rs.52,000 before fleeing, police said.
"Two armed masked men attacked a petrol pump station in Mawsynram area around 7.20 p.m., injuring the manager of the pump," said district police chief Mariahom Kharkrang .
Mawsynram is about 55 km from Shillong.
"We have found bullet shots at the pump building and seized empty cases of AK-47 rifle and 9mm pistol from the petrol pump station," Kharkrang said.
He said the petrol pump manager Sanjay Sharma sustained a leg injury.
