Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Jhunjhunu in Rajasthan on March 8 on World Women's Day, regarding which hectic preparations are on, officials said on Monday.
According to information, Modi will expand the scope of the 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' initiative and launch yet another ambitious scheme -- National Mission on Nutrition (Rashtriya Poshan Yojana) from here.
The event, informed sources said, will be organised by the Women and Dhild Development Department.
At a meeting called at the Secretariat here, presided over by Chief Secretary N.C. Goyal and attended by Women and Child Development Secretary Rakesh Shrivastav, Goyal directed the officials to ensure that the assigned tasks are finished on time.
Shrivastav said a proposal has been made to organise an event during Modi's visit to Jhunjhunu, wherein Naari Shakti awards will be handed over by him to awardees.
District Collector Dinesh Yadav said arrangements were being made for the visit.
