The attack took place in the afternoon when a militant detonated a suicide jacket close to the convoy of Abdul Wodoud in Kandahar, 450 km south of Kabul, police spokesman Zia Durranni told Xinhua.
Wodoud was shifted to a hospital where he died of his injuries around 3.00 p.m.
