Pope Francis condemned the terror attacks in Turkey and Egypt on Sunday and called for the unity of human and civilian values in the face of violence that leads to death and destruction.

The Pope made the comments during the Sunday Angelus, speaking in the famous window looking out onto St. Peter's Square overlooking the crowd gathered for the occasion.

He called on the faithful to pray for the victims of the terror attacks that have taken place in different countries in recent hours, reports Efe.

At least 25 people died on Sunday and 49 were injured in an attack near the Coptic Cathedral in Cairo, Egypt, a health ministry spokesperson said.

The attack comes two days after a bombing attack killed six police officers near the Pyramids of Giza, west of Cairo.

Egyptian militant group, Hasm movement, claimed responsibility for that attack.
