Vatican City, Sep 12 (IANS/AKI) Pope Francis on Tuesday called on leaders around the world to "set aside partisan and ideological interests" for the good of humankind.
"I encourage world leaders to set aside partisan and ideological interests and seek together the common good of all humanity," Francis tweeted.
The Pope's nine-language @pontifex Twitter account has close to 34 million followers, analysis from Twiplomacy, a group that tracks the social media use of world leaders, showed last month.
Francis is currently the most-followed global leader on the social networking platform, followed by US President Donald Trump, who has about 30 million followers, the Twiplomacy data showed.
