When was the last time you drew something beautiful on a piece of paper but failed to share it with friends on social media?
Domestic technology company Portronics now has a solution for you, in 'Electropen 4'.
Priced at Rs 5,599, the device gives people freedom to write or draw on paper, store it digitally and share the high-quality image on social media.
'Electropen 4' is a 'smart' pen that records your work, that is done on an A4-size sheet, on your smartphone or personal computer (PC) in real time to be shared further.
Let's see what works for the device?
'Electropen 4' comes with an ultrasonic receiver that can be paired with an Android device, iPhone or PC via bluetooth.

You can also use a USB cable to record your work on a PC or a laptop.
The easy-to-carry, triangular-shaped pen is soft and comfortable while writing and has a 'sender' device embedded in it. The device comes with two ball-point refills.
Once fitted, the device looks and works like a normal pen. It has a charging port at the bottom.
Both -- the pen and receiver -- can be charged in half an hour and can run for long, depending on the usage.
The company claims that the receiver can store up to 100 A4 size pages digitally (we tested only 10) and can also record a video of the entire writing process.
You can see the number of pages stored in the digital metre of the receiver that shows the bluetooth paring signal and battery status.
To make it work, you have to pair the receiver with a device with an 'Electropen 4' app (in our case, we used 'MemoPlus' app) on Android device.
As you write, you can see the corresponding image being drawn on the app in real time.
Additionally, the bluetooth digital pen uses the microphone of the smartphone or laptop that allows the users to record the audio as they take notes.
The best part is that once you write on sheet and need to delete a wrong line or word, you can do it on smartphone.
Erase a mistake, add colours or even choose different type of pen from the app to give your work an artistic feel.
What doesn't work?
It does not have different pressure points like other such devices have. Also, you have to search a lot for an app and then go through the bulkiness of the process to make the device work.
Conclusion: For beginners, the device can save time. Although it's a bit pricey but when compared with costly tablets with styluses, 'Electropen 4' comes in handy.
