Bollywood actor Prateik Babbar will soon venture into the hospitality sector with the launch of a wellness centre in Himachal Pradesh's Dharamshala city.
"For me this is more of a social service act and it will discipline me further. I had never imagined in my wildest dreams that I'd be doing something so corporate, but my family has been very supportive. It's a welfare centre that will enhance the holistic well-being of a person," Prateik said in a statement on Sunday.
The inaugural centre will be launched later this year, and will be followed by a chain of centres in other hill stations in 2018.
After going sober and abstaining from the use of drugs and alcohol for over one year now, Prateik has already begun with all the groundwork.
"After rehab, the actor was fighting depression and to get some inner calm, he visited Dharamshala to complete the detox regime. Since he found it quite therapeutic, he decided to help others by opening up a chain of centres committed to being a support system to people who maybe fighting depression, drug problem or stress," said a source.
The centres will encourage organic healthy diets, homegrown detox regimes using ayurvedic massages. The packages will be economically priced with the staff being locally sourced. Since, Prateik is an avid foodie, the menu will also cater to a global appetite.
