International researchers from different streams of science will deliver lectures in the eastern metropolis this weekend - via video links - at a three-day interaction organised by Presidency University.
The "Presidency Lecture Series" at the 196-year-old institution beginning Dec 13 will bring together stalwarts of quantum physics, structural chemistry, geology and mathematics among others for lecture sessions.
Russian mathematician Vladimir Voevodsky and Yuri Ivanovitch Manin will deliberate on their fields via video links, while Indian-born American theoretical condensed matter physicist Sankar Das Sarma will speak on quantum reality and computation at the campus.
Geologists Sudipta Sengupta (one of the first Indian women to visit the Antarctic) and Indra Bir Singh will enlighten students on various facets of the science, as structural chemistry expert Dipankar Das Sarma takes the floor on nanotechnology.
Other luminaries include biophysicist Gautam Basu, Indie Game Designer Shailesh Prabhu and physicist Sumit Ranjan Das for the three-day event.
