President Pranab Mukherjee greeted the people on the occasion of Ganesh festival, which will be celebrated from September 5 to 15 across the country.
"On the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, I convey warm greetings and good wishes to all my fellow countrymen," he said in a message here on Sunday.
"May Lord Ganesha, the God of learning, knowledge and wealth, remove all obstacles on the path of progress and prosperity of our nation. May the blessings of Lord Ganesha be upon all and bestow good fortune and happiness. Let us on this day dedicate ourselves to building a strong and vibrant nation," he added.
The 10-day festival is celebrated in most of the country. It begins with Ganesh Chaturthi -- also called Vinakaya Chaturthi in southern India -- the fourth day of the first fortnight of Hindu lunar month of Bhadrapada, and ends on Anant Chaturdashi, the 14th day of the same fortnight.
