President Pranab Mukherjee on Sunday greeted Zambia on the eve of its 52nd Independence Day and wished it prosperity and progress.
"On behalf of the government, the people of India and on my own behalf, I extend to you and to the people of Zambia warm greetings and felicitations on the occasion of your Independence Day," Mukherjee said in a message to Zambian President Edgar C. Lungu.
"India and Zambia have traditionally shared cordial and friendly relations. I am confident that our relations will be strengthened further in the years to come -- for the mutual benefit of our two peoples," he added.
Mukherjee also wished for President Lungu's continued health and wellbeing in his message.
