President Pranab Mukherjee Saturday opened the annual Udyanotsav (Garden Festival) 2014 of the Mughal Gardens at the Rashtrapati Bhavan here.
With yellow being the theme of this year's festival, the main attraction are the tulips.
Five thousand tulips in red, orange, yellow mixed with red and white have been planted for the festival.
Along with a small cactus corner, flower carpets in various designs will also be on display.
"Plant lovers will be able to see a new method of soil less farming of vegetables and house plants along a vertical wall. The unseasonal rains have not caused too much damage to the gardens," a Rashtrapati Bhavan release said.
The gardens will remain open for general public from Feb 16 to March 16 between 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
