President Pranab Mukherjee Friday paid tributes to former president Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan on his birth anniversary, which is celebrated every year as Teachers' Day.
"The president, officers and staff paid floral tributes in front of a portrait of Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan in the Durbar Hall of Rashtrapati Bhavan," said a statement.
Born in 1888, Radhakrishnan was a respected scholar and teacher of philosophy.
He served as the president of India from May 13, 1962 to May 13, 1967. He died in 1975.
