A wrist-wearable anti-molestation device, alert switch for auto rickshaws, and height-adjustable wash basin will be among various grassroots innovations to be displayed at an exhibition in Rashtrapati Bhavan here beginning on Saturday.
The exhibition will be inaugurated by President Pranab Mukherjee.
A total of 65 grassroots innovations will be part of the exhibition which will kick-off a week-long Festival of Innovations being organised in collaboration with the National Innovation Foundation at the Rashtrapati Bhavan from March 12 to 19, an official statement said.
The exhibits include alert switch in bus/auto rickshaw for women's safety, rain water syringe for water conservation, simple flushing mechanism for public urinals, foot-operated page-turning device for differently-abled and a wrapper picker.
The week-long Festival of Innovations will witness a number of exhibitions and roundtable discussions on different topics related to innovation with national and international participation, the statement said.
President Mukherjee has extended tremendous support to the innovation movement in the country since assuming office and has encouraged setting up of innovation clubs in all institutions of higher learning apart from introducing annual residency programmes for grassroots innovators at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

There will also be a talk by Nobel laureate Kailash Satyarthi, a meeting of innovation clubs set up in institutions of higher education across the country, a workshop for children and a "hackathon" to develop applications useful to society apart from awards for innovation.
The statement said the exhibition will remain open between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. from March 12-19 for the public. All visitors to the Mughal Gardens will be able to visit the exhibition.
