President Pranab Mukherjee, Vice President Hamid Ansari and senior Congress leaders paid tributes to the country's first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru on his 125th birth anniversary on Saturday.
Former prime minister Manmohan Singh, Congress president Sonia Gandhi and party vice president Rahul Gandhi also paid floral tributes to Nehru on his birth anniversary at the Shanti Van memorial site, dedicated to him.
Jawaharlal Nehru was born in Allahabad on November 14, 1889 and died on May 27, 1964.
He became the first prime minister of India after the country's independence in 1947 and served till his death.
His birth anniversary is celebrated as Children's Day.
