Maruti Suzuki said a fire that broke out at its powertrain plant in Manesar Wednesday has not affected production.
"A minor fire was reported earlier today (Wednesday) from one of the heat treatment furnaces at powertrain plant. The fire was quickly extinguished," the company said in a statement.
"There was no injury to anyone due to this incident. There was no loss of production. Work in the plant remains normal."
The powertrain division of Maruti Suzuki manufacturers 300,000 diesel engines and transmission systems per annum. It was merged with the automobile manufacturer in April last year.
