A protester was killed in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district on Tuesday when security personnel in a vehicle opened fire after being pelted by stones by a mob, police said.
Police here said that a crowd had gathered outside the camp of counter insurgency Rashtriya Rifles in Padgampora village of Pulwama, waiting to receive the bodies of two local militants of the Lashkar-e-Taiba killed in a gunfight with security forces earlier on Tuesday.
The mob indulged in heavy stone pelting at a security force vehicle passing on the road outside the camp. Security personnel inside the vehicle fired in which Bilal Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Padgampora village, was injured," a police official said.
Bhat was taken to the SMHS hospital in Srinagar where doctors declared him dead.
