There was some respite from rainfall over the past 24 hours across most places in Punjab and Haryana though the skies remained overcast in the region, weather officials said here Monday.
Amritsar was the coldest in the plains with the minimum temperature recorded at 3.6 degrees Celsius.
Other places across Punjab and Haryana were a little bit warmer with the minimum temperatures slightly above what is normal for this time of the year.
Chandigarh recorded a minimum temperature of 9.3 degrees Celsius Monday, two degrees above normal.
In Haryana, Ambala (9.9), Hisar (10.3) and Karnal (10.2) were warmer by two to three degrees.
In Punjab, Ludhiana (7.9) and Patiala (10.7) also were warmer, the temperatures being one and four degrees Celsius above normal respectively.
Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh received widespread rain Saturday and Sunday.
