A terror module involved in serious crimes in Punjab has been busted and two of its members arrested, official sources said on Wednesday.
Two members of an inter-state militant module were arrested on Tuesday in separate but coordinated intelligence-led operations by the district police of Nawanshahr, Ferozepur and Kapurthala, an official spokesperson said here.
A .12-bore rifle and .32-bore revolver were seized from accused gangster Gurpreet Singh, who was arrested from Kohala village in Ferozepur district, and Avtar Singh, who was arrested from Bhanolanga village in Kapurthala district.
The spokesperson said they were involved in the killing of Gurdev Singh, a follower of Dera Sacha Sauda sect, in Burj Jawahar Singh Wala village in Faridkot district on June 13 last year.
They were also allegedly involved in the killing of Baba Lakha Singh in Hanumangarh district of Rajasthan on November 23, 2016.
He said another suspect in these killings, identified as Ashok Kumar Vohra, escaped under the cover of darkness.

"Preliminary investigations revealed the accused had carried out a recce of some of their intended targets and they planned to attack them to create communal disharmony in Punjab," the spokesperson said.
