Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet his US counterpart Donald Trump at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Vietnam, a top official said here on Thursday.
Russian Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov said Putin and Trump will meet on Friday, although the exact time of the meeting was not yet known, reports Efe news.
On Wednesday, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said the North Korean crisis will dominate the agenda of meetings between Russian and American leaders in Da Nang.
Trump had also told reporters on Sunday that he was planning to meet the Russian President to discuss the situation on the Korean peninsula.
The APEC summit will conclude on Saturday with a meeting of economic leaders.
APEC comprises Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, China, South Korea, the US, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Peru, Russia, Singapore, Taipei, Thailand and Vietnam.
