A quack was killed by two persons who disguised themselves as patients in West Bengal's Malda district on Sunday, police said.
"Obaidullah Seikh, a quack from Malda's Kaliachak was allegedly stabbed to death by two people who got into his chamber in the guise of patients on Sunday," said an officer from Kaliachak police station.
According to locals, the two suspected assailants were Nizamuddin Seikh and his son who had personal enmity with him.
"The two had an old discord with Obaidullah Seikh since he had refused to treat Nizamuddin Seikh's wife during her illness. It is possible that they attacked him to avenge her death," a local said.
Police, however, said they are yet to ascertain the motive behind the murder.
"The two are on the run since the incident. We are looking for them," the police officer said.
