Tremors from a magnitude 7.5 earthquake having its epicentre in Afghanistan hit Ghaziabad city, near Delhi, on Monday. But no damage to property or loss of life was reported.
According to police, people rushed out of their offices and residences at around 2.45 p.m when they were jolted by the tremors.
At the main commercial hub of Ghaziabad RDC, where most offices, banks and shopping malls are situated, people came out of the buildings. They returned only after standing in the open for some time.
In trans-Hindon where Indirapuram and Vaishali localities, having high rise buildings and trans-railway line, are located no property or loss of life was reported, police said.
