Strong tremors were felt in Uttar Pradesh as an earthquake measuring 7.5 on the Richter scale with its epicentre in Afghanistan jolted northern India on Monday.
The tremors were felt in Aligarh, Agra, Baghpat, Meerut, Bareilly and Moradabad towns as well as Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad districts bordering New Delhi.
No loss of property or life was reported, officials said.
