Congress vice president Rahul Gandhu Tuesday described the railway budget as "hopeless".

"It is a hopeless budget," Gandhi told journalists after Railway Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda presented his maiden budget in parliament.

He said that Congress states were not given their due in the Rs.164,374 crore budget.

"Congress ruled states were ignored in this budget," Gandhi said.
