West Bengal Congress president Adhir Chowdhury on Tuesday hailed the new party President Rahul Gandhi as a "sagacious and dynamic leader" and claimed he would play a pivotal role in new political dynamics in the country.
"Our beloved Rahul Gandhi is now Cong President, will certainly instill confidence into the minds of Cong workers.he is a sagacious and dynamic leader, he will be playing a pivotal and catalytic role in forging a new political dynamics with distinctive narratives," Chowdhury said in a tweet.
State Congress activists on Tuesday observed 'Bijay Dibas' at the WBPCC headquarters Bidhan Bhavan to celebrate Rahul Gandhi's ascension to the post.
Condemning the brutal killing of Bengali labourer Afrajul in Rajasthan earlier this month, Chowdhury demanded that the case's trial be transferred from Rajasthan to Bengal. He also asked the state government to open liaison offices in states where people from Bengal go in search of jobs.
Criticising Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's claims that her party workers would not say indecent things even if they are provoked by other parties, the Congress leader said Banerjee herself is heavily involved in foul-mouthing others.
"She herself is a pioneer in foul-mouthing others. Her party leaders have mastered this habit from her. Maybe Banerjee has felt that the party needs to be more civilised. Hence she is trying to change the stance," Chowdhury added.
