It may rain in Jammu and Kashmir's capital Srinagar on Wednesday, the Met Office said.
People here woke up to a cloudy morning, with a slight respite from the overnight cold and chill as the minimum temperature improved across the state on Wednesday.
"We are expecting generally dry weather today (Wednesday) with chances of rain late in the evening. There is likelihood of increased precipitation on December 11 (Friday)," a Met official said, adding the weather may improve Saturday onwards.
The minimum temperature here was recorded at 2.3 degrees on Wednesday. On Tuesday it settled at 1.6 degrees Celsius. According to weather office, the maximum temperature is likely to hover around 13 degrees Celsius.
Leh town of the Ladakh region was coldest in the state at minus 5 degrees Celsius. While the minimum temperature in Kargil was recorded at minus 3.6 degrees, in Jammu city it settled at 12.4 degrees Celsius.
"Maximum temperature in Jammu city will hover around 21.5 degrees Celsius," the weather official said.
